As a kid, Julia could sit for hours at the kitchen table, staring down a thousand tiny, mismatched pieces, quietly determined to fit them together. And it’s that level of patience and focus that has formed her career.
The middle child of three daughters raised by a single mother in Nebraska, Julia was the first in her family to go to college, and put herself through school, working 30 hours a week working in restaurants with a full course load. She went on to business school, work in the corporate world, earn her CPA, and eventually ran a tax advising firm before joining the Palm Group.
Her problem-solving mindset is what led her to tax advising. The tax code, she says, is like a puzzle. Her expertise in this area is one of the most powerful tools she brings to the table. Because what tax code lacks in short-term adrenaline rush, it more than compensates for in the long run: Making smart tax decisions in conjunction with financial decision making can have one of the single biggest impacts on your long-term wealth.
Her specialized knowledge, strategic, holistic approach, and empathetic ear make Julia a secret weapon with The Palm Group. With a background in corporate telecom and entrepreneurship, Julia says education is everything. As she likes to say, “We don’t know what we don’t know.”

Julia earned her MBA in Finance from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska. She lives in Denver with her husband, Glenn, their two kids, Samantha and Henry, and their 85-lb rescue pup, Penny. She’s an early riser (as in, 4:30 a.m. early), loves the outdoors, a trail runner, skier, and beginner golfer—and come winter, you’ll either find her in the mountains playing or if it’s below zero, inside with a hot toddy and a jigsaw puzzle spread out on the family kitchen table.
She’s also committed to giving back—whether helping with her son’s lacrosse team, volunteering, or supporting financial education for local youth.
One thing to know about Julia: she doesn’t sugarcoat things. She’s sharp, honest to the bone, and can bury you in IRS code if you want—but she’d rather show you what matters and how to make it work for you.
