These days, Chase’s idea of fun smacks of what outdoorsy people call Type 2—meaning the satisfaction he gets from an activity is inversely proportional to how excruciating it is in the moment—i.e., half-Ironmans, ultramarathons, bike races (road and mountain), and Crossfit.
Chase grew up in Pagosa Springs, CO, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Taylor University. He now lives in Centennial, CO with his wife Amy, their son Levi, and their bernedoodle, Lily. On weekends, you’ll find them skiing, golfing, working out, or bouncing down backroads in Chase’s restored 1978 Land Cruiser.
